Descriptive info: Posted on:.. September 22nd, 2014.. THEY SAW, THEY RAN, THEY CONQUERED.. The PSpace Team of 13 assembled at the Harbour Bridge, clad in navy with splashes of vibrant yellow, to hit the track, put the pedal to the metal, make like the wind [etc ]on Sunday 21 September.. Time had come to put our training to the test, to make the most of the preparatory carb-loading that had taken place, to show Sydney (and the world) what we were made of on this, our day of reckoning.. As the 35,000 strong crowd of runners converged with our tiny brigade, it become a battle to survive and get to the finish line with our pride in tact.. As a unit, we rose to the challenge! We made every space a performance space at our own pace.. Thanks to the invaluable support of friends, family and a number of generally fabulous individuals, we have raised an incredible $6257.. 00 to go towards 2015 Performance Space projects, residencies and events.. It was no easy feat, but we did it!.. How proud are we? Super proud and sore.. A big shout out to the artists who ran with us, the super speedy Malcom Whittaker, the glorious Greedy Hens, and the incredibly generous Mark Mitchell.. Let s do it all again next year!.. WANT THE LOOK?.. BUY THE T-SHIRT!.. Posted in.. Fundraising.. September 16th, 2014.. In 2012 Performance Space utilised the Stephen Cummins Bequest to found a residency program to develop and re-energise queer performance in Sydney by providing the opportunity to dramaturgically develop work in a critically rigorous context and cross over from the club scene into a contemporary performance context has been somewhat lacking.. The cabaret, short-act format has remained the dominant presentation model and there have been few new models developed to provide opportunities for emergent queer artists who are extending their practice into other performance realms.. This mentorship and residency program for emerging queer performers or collectives is now in it’s third-year and aims to address this limitation and provide space for the development of new work.. Past alumni include Daniel Cater, Shian Law, Sarah Coconis, Emma-Maye Gibson, Hissy Fit and James Welsby.. RESIDENCY SCHEDULE.. WEEK 1.. 20 – 26 October.. Martin del Amo and Liz Dunn..
